IAM carries out scientific outreach activities through the curation and organisation of conferences, exhibitions, cultural and educational events, in academic and public spheres.

IAM supports the teaching activities of the Politecnico di Torino by conducting workshops and courses, editing degree and doctoral theses, organising workshops, national and international seminars, and student teams.

IAM develops pilot projects and architectural prototypes through feasibility studies, project accompaniment activities for local authorities - public and private - development of participatory processes for communities and drafting of best practices.

IAM promotes research on the themes of architecture, design and the Alpine landscape and marginal areas in their various design, technological, historical and cultural aspects, through the publication of books, essays, articles, and the editing of the international journal ArchAlp.
